What you'll do

  • Lead and develop a team of propulsion engineers through hiring, performance management, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Provide technical leadership for engine selection studies, cycle modeling, and aircraft-engine integration activities.
  • Oversee the development and validation of propulsion analytical models using tools like NPSS and AxSTREAM.
  • Manage the definition and verification of propulsion system interfaces, including fan systems and thrust reversers.
  • Guide the optimization of engine bleed extraction for environmental control and anti-ice functions.
  • Lead propulsion certification activities to ensure compliance with FAA Part 25 requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with engine manufacturers for design reviews and requirement definition.
  • Oversee data analytics initiatives to monitor in-service engine performance and troubleshoot issues.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 13 years of engineering experience is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a specific technical discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or broad managerial responsibility is required.
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, gas turbine engine performance, and aircraft propulsion systems is required.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 25 certification requirements and compliance activities is required.
  • Experience working with engine OEMs and cross-functional engineering organizations is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
