Program Operations, Maritime (Heavy Metal) serves as the operational backbone for the Heavy Metal team within the Maritime division. This role acts as a business generalist and the primary connective tissue between program management and core areas including Finance, Stakeholder Integration, Supply Chain, Workforce Development, and Facilities. The individual will manage complex programs against Earned Value Management metrics, translate procurement data into risk profiles, coordinate facility milestones with production plans, and lead strategic initiatives like operating-model design and executive review preparation. Key responsibilities involve managing the corporate planning cycle, onboarding new team members, and establishing internal operating cadences for a rapidly growing program. The role requires expertise in shipbuilding or heavy manufacturing environments to solve problems related to advanced maritime capabilities and digital-first production systems while navigating complex requirements from government and prime partners.
Coordinate across supply chain, workforce development, and facilities to ensure the program meets all deliverables.
Manage stakeholder integration by preparing briefing materials and tracking commitments for customers, partners, and government entities.
Analyze procurement and vendor data to identify and mitigate risks related to long-lead items and supplier capacity.
Translate workforce plans into integrated tracking systems to manage hiring and training for a rapidly growing team.
Integrate facility milestones and capital deployment with the product build plan to ensure production readiness.
Lead strategic initiatives including operating model design, executive review preparation, and special project diligence.
Manage the corporate planning cycle by monitoring performance against financial plans, headcount goals, and growth targets.
Establish internal operating cadences such as all-hands meetings and business reviews to onboard new team members.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export-controlled information or facilities.
3+ years of experience in program operations, consulting, corporate strategy, finance, defense/aerospace program management, or general business analysis.
Ability to solve complex, cross-functional problems using both program-management and general-business-operations lenses.
Must be a fast learner capable of working across finance, supply chain, workforce, and construction functions.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience (preferred).
5+ years of experience and ability to operate independently across wide responsibilities (preferred).
Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVMS) as a practitioner, auditor, or leader (preferred).
Experience in shipbuilding, heavy manufacturing, aerospace, or large defense programs (preferred).
