JOB TITLE: Principal/Sr. Principal Cyber Protection Engineer (AHT) The Principal/Sr. Principal Cyber Protection Engineer (AHT) joins the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems team to support the DAF CLOUDworks program at the Air Force Research Laboratory. This role involves conducting penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and security assessments across cloud, enterprise, and hybrid environments. The engineer will evaluate and harden AWS and Azure platforms, focusing on IAM, networking, storage, and logging. Key responsibilities include securing CI/CD pipelines, assessing containerization and virtualization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware, and using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation. The position addresses the technical challenge of securing a rapidly growing secure cloud program by implementing new requirements, improving functionality, and lowering deployment overhead while managing offensive security methodologies and common attacker TTPs.

What you'll do

Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and security assessments against cloud, enterprise, and hybrid environments.
Evaluate and harden cloud platforms including AWS and Azure across IAM, networking, storage, and logging services.
Secure build, test, and deployment workflows within CI/CD pipeline technologies.
Assess containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware from a security perspective.
Use scripting and automation languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support testing and operational workflows.
Contribute to securing and enhancing DAF CLOUDworks offerings to meet new mission requirements.

What we're looking for

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline with 5+ years of software development experience, a master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience, or 4+ additional years of experience.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline with 8+ years of software development experience, a master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience, or 4+ additional years of experience.
Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Must be able to obtain IAT Level II or IAT Level III certification within 60 days of start date.
Must have experience conducting penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, or security assessments against cloud, enterprise, or hybrid environments.
Must have experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, including IAM, networking, storage, logging, and security services.
Must have experience with scripting or automation languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Must have knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and common enterprise architectures.
