Principal Software Infrastructure Engineer - OCI Networking joins the OCI Networking team to develop large-scale distributed infrastructure for a multi-tenant cloud environment. The engineer will build services to provide predictable performance, isolation, and availability for Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies. Key responsibilities include leading technical direction for high-impact projects and collaborating across teams to create unified, automated systems. Candidates must possess experience in the full software development lifecycle and proficiency in Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages. Preferred skills include knowledge of Terraform, SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies to solve complex networking challenges at scale.

What you'll do

Design and architect large-scale distributed systems for network orchestration and rapid region builds across OCI.
Develop services and frameworks to simplify complex networking challenges at scale.
Lead technical direction for high-impact projects while mentoring engineers and conducting design reviews.
Improve service reliability, latency, and operational automation through intelligent tooling and self-healing systems.
Influence architectural strategy and the region-build roadmap in partnership with senior leadership.
Build services that ensure secure, consistent performance and isolation in a multi-tenant cloud environment.

What we're looking for

Must be located within 50 miles of Nashville, TN or willing to relocate to work in the office full-time.
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding.
5+ years of total experience in software development.
Ability to write high-quality code using Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages.
Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivering products to production.
Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.
Experience operating in an environment with mission-critical tier-one livesite servicing.
Proven ability to design architectures for high availability, scalability, and complex system interactions.
