What you'll do

  • Lead architecture, technical strategy, and design for large-scale commerce, financial, and cloud platform systems.
  • Design and evolve cloud-native distributed systems focused on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Develop AI-powered capabilities, including LLM-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.
  • Drive platform modernization to improve system consistency, developer productivity, and long-term maintainability.
  • Influence technical roadmaps and investments by partnering with product managers, researchers, and business stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex architectural challenges and manage dependencies across multiple teams and organizations.
  • Champion engineering excellence through secure development practices, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
  • Establish reusable patterns and frameworks to enable faster delivery of high-quality platform capabilities.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, or enterprise software (preferred).
  • Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence (preferred).
  • Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar programming languages (preferred).
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms; Azure experience preferred (preferred).
  • Experience with commerce, financial systems, payments, billing, revenue systems, or large-scale transaction processing (preferred).
  • Experience building AI-powered solutions, LLM-enabled experiences, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation (preferred).
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, telemetry, and DevOps practices (preferred).
  • Understanding of security, privacy, accessibility, compliance, reliability, and Responsible AI principles (preferred).
  • Ability to mentor senior engineers and translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders (preferred).
