You will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and negotiating complex commercial agreements while orchestrating internal alignment across Engineering, Product, Business Development, Legal, Data Science, Finance, and Treasury. Your daily work involves defining multi-year partnership strategies, managing partner economics, monitoring performance against KPIs like payment volume and authorization rates, and advising executive leadership on build-vs-buy decisions. You will navigate the complexities of the payments value chain, including ACH, RTP, FedNow, and KYC requirements. The role requires deep expertise in financial infrastructure to solve challenges regarding transaction speed, margin health, and regulatory compliance within the fast-moving fintech landscape to ensure seamless money movement across various payment rails.

What you'll do

  • Define and execute a multi-year partnership strategy for payments to improve growth, margins, and speed-to-market.
  • Source, structure, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with card networks, processors, banks, and risk providers.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of third-party partnerships by developing joint business plans and monitoring performance against KPIs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product, Legal, and Data Science to align on integration requirements and deal structures.
  • Advise executive leadership on build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions using market intelligence and data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage partner economics over the life of agreements by renegotiating terms and resolving escalations.
  • Monitor the competitive and regulatory landscape to develop proactive strategies for emerging risks in money movement.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances.
  • Experience in payments, money movement, or financial infrastructure (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of the payments value chain including card networks, acquiring, sponsor banking, and payment rails.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and negotiating complex agreements with large enterprises and financial institutions.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of strategic partners and tracking performance against KPIs.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product, Legal, and Data Science through influence without direct authority.
  • Experience navigating partnerships through significant regulatory or market shifts (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executive decision-makers.
