Principal, Government Compliance joins the Government Compliance team to ensure operational excellence and adherence to U.S. government standards. This role involves developing programs and conducting financial, business systems, and operational audits covering internal controls, pricing, estimating, and unallowable cost accounting. The individual will manage all stages of Incurred Cost Proposals, perform audit fieldwork for business systems compliance, and conduct regulatory reviews based on CAS and FAR principles. Key responsibilities include resolving issues raised by government auditors, preparing technical position responses, and coordinating with internal departments to meet DCAA and DCMA requirements. The role requires expertise in GAAP, PCAOB standards, GAAS, and IIA standards. Candidates must navigate complex federal regulations including DFAR and Cost Accounting Standards while utilizing automated accounting systems and data mining techniques to ensure compliance within the defense contracting landscape.
Manage all stages of Incurred Cost Proposals to ensure compliance with FAR 52.216-7 regulations.
Conduct financial, business systems, and operational audits regarding internal controls, pricing, and unallowable costs.
Perform audit fieldwork to evaluate the operational effectiveness of government business systems across the enterprise.
Coordinate with internal departments to meet audit deliverables for DCAA and DCMA agencies.
Provide financial analysis, including data mining and accounting reconciliations, to support organizational decision-making.
Resolve issues raised by government auditors by preparing reports, technical responses, and cost impact analyses.
Develop and modify policies, procedures, and internal controls to meet federal regulatory standards.
Support training efforts within the scope of the Regulatory Compliance Program.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree and 12 years of government compliance experience, a Graduate degree and 10 years of experience, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain the required security clearance.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is required.
Ability to perform financial analysis including accounting reconciliations, data mining, and auditing of indirect cost accounts.
Experience with GAAP, PCAOB standards, GAAS, and IIA standards (preferred).
Subject matter expertise in project management and ability to manage complex initiatives with minimal oversight (preferred).
Internal or external financial or compliance audit experience (preferred).
