JOB TITLE: Principal – GitHub & Azure DevOps Platform Engineering The Principal Architect – GitHub & Azure DevOps Platform Engineering leads the strategy, architecture, and modernization of enterprise software delivery platforms. This role involves owning the technical vision for GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and Nexus Repository while driving the migration of legacy CI/CD tooling to modern ecosystems. Key responsibilities include designing reusable workflows, establishing self-service onboarding, and operationalizing GitHub Copilot. The position requires deep expertise in GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep, and scripting with Python or PowerShell. The role solves complex technical challenges regarding software supply chain security, secrets management, and artifact integrity within a highly regulated environment. You will mentor engineers and define standards for source control, branching strategies, and automated deployment across diverse technology stacks.

What you'll do

Own the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and Nexus Repository.
Lead the migration of legacy CI/CD tooling and platforms to modern GitHub and Azure DevOps environments.
Design and implement enterprise CI/CD standards, reusable workflows, and automated self-service onboarding capabilities.
Establish security standards for secrets management, identity, software supply chain security, and SBOM generation.
Operationalize GitHub Copilot by defining enablement models, governance expectations, and budget oversight.
Design scalable and resilient architectures for GitHub runners, Azure DevOps agents, and supporting infrastructure.
Mentor engineers and architects while leading design reviews and architecture governance discussions.
Manage vendor engagements for platform services, including licensing, support escalations, and roadmap alignment.

What we're looking for

10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or software delivery platforms.
Proven experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps environments.
Deep expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline engineering, and software delivery modernization.
Experience leading large-scale platform transformation and migration initiatives.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, reusable workflows, templates, and automation frameworks.
Strong scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or similar tools.
Work Authorization.
