Principal Front-Office Software Technical Trading Engineers VP (API, ETL, Java, C#), VP - Charles River Development serves as a subject-matter expert within the Charles River Development team to manage technical initiatives and client engagements. The role involves assessing client needs, designing solutions from pre-sales through implementation, mentoring junior consultants, and overseeing project delivery for investment management software. You will build and oversee n-tier software installations, perform performance tuning, and develop prototypes to meet specific client requirements. Required technical skills include programming in Java and C#, proficiency in RDBMS like Oracle, MS SQL Server, or Sybase, and experience with Tomcat, Kafka, and ETL tools such as Kettle and Talend. The role also requires familiarity with SOAP/XML messaging, Azure, Snowflake, and various operating systems to solve complex problems within the institutional investment and wealth management domain.
Assess client needs to design and deliver technical solutions aligned with current system architecture.
Manage the day-to-day operations of client engagements and lead projects through completion within scope.
Provide technical solution designs from pre-sales stages through final implementation for various client requirements.
Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on implementations and resource allocation.
Partner with sales teams to deliver presentations, proof of concepts, and prototype designs.
Resolve project issues by identifying and documenting solutions for the engagement team.
Manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously across several different projects.
Design and execute technical training sessions for clients.
What we're looking for
Must have Front-Office, Buyside, or Investment Software trading experience.
Advanced understanding of Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) and proficiency in Infrastructure, Performance Tuning, Development, Advanced Configuration, Trouble Shooting, or Integration.
Ability to travel 10-20% to client sites in the United States and Canada.
A BA/BS degree in a business or technical field including Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in the Financial or Software Services industry (Financial market information systems background preferred).
Ability to program using Java or C# (preferred).
In-depth knowledge of at least one RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, or Sybase.
Detailed knowledge of technologies including Tomcat, N-tier architecture, SOAP/XML Messaging, Kafka, and ETL tools like Kettle or Talend.
