TL;DR · Principal Engineering, Hardware Project & Program Management

Principal Engineering, Hardware Project & Program Management joins the Systems & Optics Team to drive execution for critical hyperscale system programs. This role involves owning end-to-end execution from concept definition through customer deployment, managing multi-year projects involving system architecture, custom ASICs, silicon development, and manufacturing. The individual will establish executive-level governance, risk management frameworks, and decision-making processes while aligning senior technical leaders across matrixed organizations to resolve complex multi-functional issues. Key responsibilities include coordinating with internal silicon organizations, platform engineering, and validation teams to mitigate risks for first-generation technologies. Required expertise includes experience with SoCs, advanced semiconductor technologies, and hardware product development lifecycles including design, qualification, and manufacturing. The role focuses on the technical challenge of developing infrastructure for the AI era, specifically addressing complex system-level products with significant dependencies in networking, switching, optics, and datacenter infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end execution of critical hyperscale system programs from concept definition through customer deployment.
  • Lead multi-year programs involving system architecture, custom ASICs, silicon development, and manufacturing.
  • Establish executive-level program governance, risk management frameworks, and decision-making processes for delivery predictability.
  • Synchronize activities across internal silicon organizations, platform engineering, validation, and customer deployment teams.
  • Influence and align senior technical leaders and executive partners to resolve complex multi-functional issues.
  • Partner with hyperscale account teams to manage qualification planning and meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Provide leadership for Engineering Services by setting strategy, planning resources, and establishing Agile principles.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering with 15+ years of experience leading large-scale hardware development programs.
  • Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering with 12+ years of experience leading large-scale hardware development programs.
  • Experience leading programs involving custom ASICs, silicon development, SoCs, or advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Experience driving executive-level decision-making and partner alignment across matrixed organizations without direct authority.
  • Holds a PMP or PgMP (preferred).
  • Experience working with hyperscale cloud providers and managing large-scale datacenter infrastructure deployments (preferred).
