Principal Engineer, Performance Testing

What you'll do

• Oversee all performance testing deliverables and activities for large, complex programs across multiple technical teams.
• Lead the strategy and resolution of complex challenges involving infrastructure, network, and application bottlenecks.
• Design and execute end-to-end performance engineering to ensure system scalability, stability, and reliability.
• Manage WIMT-wide resiliency programs including chaos testing, stress testing, load testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Create common Splunk and AppDynamics patterns and configurations to improve team efficiency.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers while acting as a consultant for leadership.
• Partner with infrastructure and cloud teams to establish performance standards and operational readiness.
• Analyze results and debug latency challenges in collaboration with the CTO team.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, military service, or education.
• 7+ years of experience executing and leading performance testing.
• 5+ years of experience with scripting languages to create performance testing utilities and reusable components.
• 2+ years of experience working with observability rules.
• 2+ years of experience executing performance testing in data center migration programs (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with tools like LoadRunner, Jmeter, or Blazemeter (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience working with App Dynamics, Splunk, or Grafana (preferred).
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, firewalls, load balancers, OpenShift Container Platform, or other cloud platforms (preferred).
