What you'll do

  • Lead instrument development from initial concept through prototype, bring-up, calibration, and final deployment.
  • Architect and design precision, low-noise, and mixed-signal electronics for measurement and control in cryogenic environments.
  • Define timing, clocking, and synchronization methods across instruments and various hardware subsystems.
  • Develop robust validation plans, automated measurements, and calibration workflows to ensure instrument reliability.
  • Create and maintain shared reference platforms and testbeds to de-risk new designs and accelerate team iteration.
  • Manage vendor engagement and make build-versus-buy decisions for instrumentation components like chassis, cabling, and power modules.
  • Translate complex system requirements from cross-functional teams into measurable electrical specifications and hardware roadmaps.

What we're looking for

  • A Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience, or a Master's and 6+ years, or a Bachelor's and 8+ years.
  • Equivalent professional experience to the specified degree and year requirements is acceptable.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Checks and meet export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Proof of citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required for access to export-controlled information.
  • Proficiency in at least two areas: precision analog, mixed-signal, signal/power integrity, timing/clocking, RF/microwave, or high-speed digital interfaces.
  • Experience designing and delivering complex electrical instruments, including mixed-signal boards and high-speed data acquisition systems.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for performance modeling, research gathering, and task automation in an "AI-first" environment.
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field AND 6+ years.
