What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end system architecture for robotics platforms across hardware, firmware, OS, middleware, AI, and cloud integration.
  • Define architectural principles for real-time behavior, performance, safety isolation, and scalability on heterogeneous compute platforms.
  • Lead architectural decisions for perception, localization, navigation, planning, manipulation, and control stacks.
  • Design multi-sensor architectures including timing synchronization, calibration, and power trade-offs for robust state estimation.
  • Integrate ROS 2/DDS middleware and Qualcomm AI technologies into production-grade robotics platforms.
  • Align software architecture with SoC capabilities to influence future silicon and platform requirements.
  • Establish system-level strategies for reliability, diagnostics, functional safety patterns, and validation.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex cross-team design issues and system-level problems.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded platforms, or large-scale software systems.
  • Proven experience owning system-level architecture across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals including perception, sensor fusion, estimation, planning, and control.
  • Experience with heterogeneous compute platforms and real-time critical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS 2, DDS, real-time Linux, MCU-based systems, and AI inference runtimes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and influence decisions across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience shipping commercial or industrial robotic products at scale.
