Power Test Engineer, Satellite Power Hardware-In-The-Loop joins the Satellite Power HITL team to ensure the safety, performance, and reliability of spacecraft power systems including batteries, solar, distribution, and bus components. This role involves designing, prototyping, and deploying test systems hardware and software to verify power system performance against requirements. You will architect and automate new vehicle test cases, troubleshoot anomalies in production hardware and software, and develop standard operating procedures to scale operations. The position requires expertise in electrical engineering fundamentals such as DC circuits, power electronics, sensing, and protection. You will utilize tools like power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, oscilloscopes, and DMMs. The work focuses on the technical challenge of validating complex vehicle power systems for the Amazon Leo satellite product roadmap through hardware-in-the-loop testing and cross-functional collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
Architect, design, and automate new test cases to verify satellite performance against requirements.
Troubleshoot hardware and software anomalies identified during production testing.
Create standard operating procedures to scale routine operations and reduce non-conformances.
Design, prototype, and deploy test systems hardware and software to validate power system performance.
Provide technical input for vehicle power system design trade studies and next-generation development.
Identify and integrate power systems test venue needs through cross-functional coordination.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in a hardware or software test role.
Experience working on power systems in automotive, autonomy, consumer electronics, energy storage, or related fields.
Working knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and common test equipment like power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, oscilloscopes, and DMMs.
Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium technical projects including planning, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination in a hardware or test environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control compliance.
Experience working on power systems for aerospace programs (preferred).
Experience with technical document creation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and using AI tools to scale processes (preferred).
