Power Integrity Engineer
As part of the Hardware Technology Group, the Power Integrity Engineer will develop, implement, and verify power integrity solutions for compute and connectivity SoCs. The role involves defining power delivery network architectures, establishing off-die droop budgets, and designing end-to-end solutions across PMU, PCB, module, package, and die levels. Key responsibilities include performing modeling, simulation, and characterization of voltage regulators, conducting feasibility studies for silicon floorplans, and executing model-to-hardware correlation. The candidate will address technical challenges such as on-die inrush, digital to analog/RF noise coupling, and active droop mitigation. Required skills include proficiency in Python, AI/ML assisted automation, 2D/3D EM simulation tools, and electromagnetic theory. Experience with VNA, real-time scopes, and spectrum analyzers is essential for validating performance against stringent impedance and voltage droop specifications within the product ecosystem.
Define the power delivery network (PDN) architecture and design solutions for various system specifications.
Conduct end-to-end simulation studies of die, package, PCB, and PMU components to meet impedance requirements.
Model, simulate, and characterize power delivery across die, package, module, board, and voltage regulator levels.
Perform feasibility studies for silicon floorplans, advanced droop mitigation schemes, and voltage regulator tuning.
Analyze off-die droop budgets, inrush currents, and digital-to-analog/RF noise coupling.
Provide technical implementation guidelines and actionable feedback to cross-functional hardware teams.
Correlate simulation models with physical hardware measurements at the component and system levels.
Verify power integrity performance and efficiency using advanced laboratory measurement equipment.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree required.
M.S. or Ph.D. with academic background in Power/Signal Integrity, Power Electronics, Electromagnetics, Microwave, and/or Analog/RF Circuit Design (preferred).
Proficiency in Python coding and AI/ML assisted automation experience (preferred).
Experience in PI/SI methodology development, PDN modeling from system to die, and lab correlation/validation (preferred).
Experience in design and analysis of product power supply solution (preferred).
Understanding of power supply architecture including voltage regulator technologies, PCB/package design trends, and chip supply design (preferred).
Deep understanding of Voltage Regulator design principles and electrical performance in system environments (preferred).
Knowledge of 3D/2D EM simulation tools, electromagnetic theory, lab equipment, and cross-functional communication (preferred).
