CPU Power Engineer

The CPU Power Engineer joins the CPU team to focus on power budgeting, analysis, and identifying recovery opportunities at the intersection of micro-architecture, RTL, physical design, and technology in high performance designs. The role involves analyzing and estimating the power impact of new micro-architectural features while generating power rollups and projected estimates from initial to mature net lists throughout the project lifecycle. You will identify recovery opportunities in both physical implementation and RTL while creating projections that factor in convergence costs. Required skills include experience with CPU architecture, logic design principles, timing, and power implications for high frequency designs. Technical competencies include Perl, Python, and TCL scripting, along with knowledge of CMOS circuit design, device physics, STA, and tools like PrimePower and PowerArtist to solve complex power challenges in high performance hardware.
