CPU Power Engineer

What you'll do

• Analyze and estimate the power impact of new micro-architectural features.
• Generate power rollups and projected estimates from initial to mature netlists throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify power recovery opportunities within both physical implementation and RTL designs.
• Create power projections that factor in the expected costs of convergence and implementation.
• Refine internal processes for power projection and analysis.
• Perform power analysis across the cross-section of micro-architecture, RTL, physical design, and technology.

What we're looking for

• Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Scripting experience in Perl, Python, and TCL.
• Academic or industry experience with CPU architecture and implementation.
• Broad knowledge of micro-architecture, physical implementation, auto place and route tools, STA, spice, logic design, and device physics (preferred).
• Knowledge of logic design principles with timing and power implications for high performance and high frequency designs (preferred).
• CMOS circuit design and analysis skills (preferred).
• Experience with industry-standard power analysis tools like PrimePower and PowerArtist (preferred).
