Power Electronics Engineer, Satellites

What you'll do

• Provide engineering expertise in the design, analysis, and testing of DC-DC power converters for harsh environments.
• Perform electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop technical requirements.
• Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis.
• Create new power electronics hardware in coordination with multidisciplinary design, test, and production teams.
• Design power conversion and control systems for Starlink satellites and ground systems.
• Develop hardware for applications including solar/MPPT, battery systems, motors, and ion propulsion.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in power converter development.
• Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission-critical deadlines.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Strong grasp of analog control, discrete logic design, and DC-DC topologies (preferred).
• Experience in modeling, simulation, testing, and design of power electronics for harsh environments (preferred).
• Familiarity with spacecraft electrical power systems, radiation effects, and lithium-ion battery safety (preferred).
