Platform Information Security Officer (PISO), Life Sciences Platform serves as the senior cybersecurity executive for a global portfolio of life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology companies. This role oversees end-to-end cybersecurity execution across multiple operating companies, managing a distributed team covering security architecture, risk management, cyber assurance, data and AI security, and manufacturing security. The position involves translating corporate strategy into measurable outcomes while ensuring compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11 regulations. Key responsibilities include managing the cyber risk register, overseeing vulnerability remediation, leading audit responses for ISO 27001 and HITRUST certifications, and securing OT and manufacturing environments using IEC 62443 or NIST 800-82 standards. The role protects critical research intellectual property and customer molecules while navigating complex data protection regimes including GDPR, HIPAA, and China PIPL across global sites.
Execute end-to-end cybersecurity operations across all global Life Sciences operating companies and manufacturing sites.
Translate corporate cyber strategy into measurable outcomes while serving as the primary executive face of security to leadership.
Build and lead a globally distributed team covering architecture, risk management, assurance, and data security.
Manage the platform's cyber risk register, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure security standards for cloud and medical devices.
Lead cyber assurance programs including ISO 27001, HITRUST, SOC 2, and responses to customer security questionnaires.
Coordinate product security for medical devices, including FDA premarket requirements and postmarket vulnerability management.
Oversee data protection and AI security governance in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other global regulations.
Secure OT and manufacturing plant environments using industry standards like IEC 62443 or NIST 800-82.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
12+ years of information security experience, including direct ownership of a cybersecurity function for multiple business units or sites in a global organization.
Demonstrated experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, Business Unit/Divisional CISO, or equivalent senior cyber leader.
Experience owning cybersecurity certification and audit programs such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HITRUST.
Experience with GxP-regulated environments, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and computer system validation.
Experience leading information security functions across globally distributed teams and managing data protection regimes like GDPR, HIPAA, and China PIPL.
Experience with cyber diligence and post-close integration for mergers and acquisitions.
Ability to travel 25-30% of the time, including international travel to various global sites.
