What you'll do

  • Act as a strategic advisor to engineering teams to guide secure platform design and implementation.
  • Embed "secure-by-design" principles and rigorous threat modeling into the early stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Communicate the organization's security posture and technical recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of innovative security controls to improve overall security maturity.
  • Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices like Zero Trust architecture and reusable design.
  • Mentor engineers in systems thinking, architectural standards, and outcome-based delivery methods.
  • Influence cross-functional teams through architectural reviews, discovery sessions, and strategic planning.
  • Promote and enforce enterprise-wide standards for system simplification and component reuse.

What we're looking for

  • Must have at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, platform development, or architecture roles.
  • Proven success as a technical advisor and mentor for multiple engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile/XP and DevOps methodologies, including TDD and CI/CD automation.
  • Hands-on expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency in Java and JavaScript ecosystems along with experience designing robust RESTful APIs.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical and security concepts to both engineering teams and senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Ability to pass a required background investigation.
