Platform Consultant, Threat Modeling

What you'll do

• Lead and facilitate threat modeling engagements across multiple applications to identify and mitigate security risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance to engineering teams on secure architecture, platform design, and threat modeling practices.
• Embed secure-by-design principles into software delivery processes from initial discovery through production deployment.
• Define and influence platform security strategies and architectural decisions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop risk-based security recommendations that balance security requirements with business objectives and developer experience.
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including reusable security patterns and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with Security Operations to improve threat detection capabilities and breach modeling initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders on systems thinking, threat identification, and secure design methodologies.

What we're looking for

• Must have 3+ years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, solution architecture, technical project management, or platform engineering.
• Experience acting as a technical advisor, consultant, architect, or security partner for engineering teams is required.
• Must possess a deep understanding of threat modeling methodologies such as STRIDE, Attack Trees, Kill Chains, or equivalent frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and mitigating security threats in cloud-native, distributed, API-driven, or enterprise applications is required.
• Practical experience with modern software development practices including CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and Agile delivery is required.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated security considerations is required.
• Desirable skills include knowledge of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and identity management concepts.
• Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation.
