TL;DR · Planning Program Lead, Edge

The Planning Program Lead, Edge joins the Microsoft Edge organization to manage the complex synchronization between 12-week planning cycles and the Chromium release train. This role serves as a critical liaison between engineering DRIs and leadership, ensuring that project data in Atlas and Azure DevOps accurately reflects reality. You will be responsible for running workstream reviews, managing feature demo schedules, and overseeing release readiness activities. The position requires an analytical approach to evaluate team structures and staffing levels while driving the adoption of program management tools and processes. Key requirements include proficiency with Atlas, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Loop, and Power BI, alongside a demonstrated ability to apply AI to improve workflows. You will solve coordination challenges within the browser space by maintaining high data quality across mission sheets, milestones, and complex dependency tracking for large-scale software development.

What you'll do

  • Manage the 12-week planning cycle deliverables, including tracking artifacts, status rollups, and release calendars.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering leads and leadership to communicate priorities, risks, and project realities.
  • Organize and lead workstream reviews, feature demos, and executive status meetings while ensuring clear action items are tracked.
  • Maintain data integrity across Atlas and Azure DevOps to ensure planning tools reflect accurate staffing and project status.
  • Analyze team structures and resourcing data to identify and resolve staffing gaps or organizational risks.
  • Develop and maintain program management documentation, templates, and tooling to standardize processes across the organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements by troubleshooting operational breakdowns and integrating AI-powered workflows.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field and 6+ years of experience in program management, program operations, or business operations.
  • 7+ years of equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of the degree and specific experience requirements.
  • Experience supporting a Program Management Office or similar central planning, resourcing, or delivery-excellence function (preferred).
  • Demonstrated AI fluency with a proven ability to apply AI to improve program workflows and team productivity (preferred).
  • Experience running recurring meetings end-to-end including agenda creation, facilitation, documentation, and follow-up (preferred).
  • Experience owning data quality in planning tools like Atlas, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira (preferred).
  • Familiarity with browser, client, or platform release cycles and dependency management (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Atlas, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Loop, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Copilot; PMP certification is a plus.
