What you'll do

Design, prototype, and implement kernel features for performance control, power management, and scheduling.
Conduct experiments to characterize execution efficiency and the effects of temperature or power delivery.
Use empirical methodology to analyze and illuminate power-performance tradeoffs.
Create instrumentation and data visualizations to monitor system performance.
Prototype innovative in-kernel performance control algorithms.
Productize software that controls the performance of workloads across all Apple platforms.
Identify opportunities to improve the measurement and control capabilities of Apple silicon.

What we're looking for

BS in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a similar engineering degree.
Experience with operating system design and implementation.
Kernel software development experience in C or C++.
Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience (preferred).
MS in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a similar engineering degree (preferred).
Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware performance monitoring instrumentation (preferred).
Userland software development experience in C, C++, Swift, or Python (preferred).
Experience with system-level performance profiling, debugging tools, and tracing frameworks (preferred).
