As a PCB Designer within the Central Hardware Systems team, you will contribute to next-generation hardware development across diverse platforms including Mobile, Automotive, Infrastructure, IoT, and Compute. You will utilize specialized tools including Siemens/Mentor Xpedition for complex layout design, Siemens Valor for DFM analysis of Gerber and ODB++ data packages, and Downstream Technologies Blueprint for fabrication documentation. The role requires proficiency in reading electrical schematics, managing electronic file exchanges, and applying knowledge of signal integrity, power distribution strategies, and various via technologies to solve 5G hardware challenges.

What you'll do

  • Design and document PCB layouts based on provided schematics and electrical/mechanical constraints.
  • Develop high-quality PCB designs for 5G products across mobile, automotive, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Utilize Siemens Xpedition and Valor tools to create complex layouts and perform DFM analysis.
  • Create and release fabrication and assembly documentation using Downstream Technologies Blueprint.
  • Evaluate design trade-offs to ensure cost-effective boards meet project schedules and requirements.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues with fabrication and assembly vendors.
  • Apply current PCB technology trends and industry standards to all hardware designs.

What we're looking for

  • An Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field and 2+ years of PCB layout experience.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of PCB layout handling or related work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience using CAD software tools to design PCBs for electronics packaging.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical constraint drawings.
  • Experience with electronic file exchanges between PCB and mechanical software tools.
  • Basic understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) requirements.
  • Experience with PCB CAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, PADS, or Altium (preferred).
  • Knowledge of electronics, circuit design, signal integrity, and fabrication processes (preferred).
