What you'll do

  • Define and lead the merchant business development strategy, operating model, and performance objectives for Paze.
  • Execute multi-year sales plans to acquire strategic enterprise merchants and expand platform adoption.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for pipeline generation, negotiation, and merchant acquisition.
  • Establish and maintain influential relationships with senior executives across the merchant and payments ecosystem.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for high-value, complex commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Develop scalable sales processes, including pipeline governance, forecasting practices, and performance metrics.
  • Provide market insights to inform product roadmap, marketing priorities, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing talent pipeline of merchant business development professionals.

What we're looking for

  • Candidates must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States at the date of hire.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, technology, or a related field is typically required, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically requires 15 or more years of experience in consultative sales, strategic business development, merchant services, eCommerce, payments, or fintech.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise merchant sales or business development within the eCommerce, digital payments, or financial technology sectors.
  • Proven ability to secure and lead relationships with senior and executive decision-makers at large enterprise merchants and payment organizations.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in recruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing sales or business development team.
  • Graduate-level education in business, finance, marketing, technology, or a related discipline (preferred).
