As an Optical Engineer, Amazon Leo - OISL, you will join a multi-disciplinary team focused on developing and testing hardware for optical communications between satellites. What you'll do

What we're looking for

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with lasers, detectors, modulators, optical fiber, and associated devices including testing and characterization.
Experience with fiber optics components and the handling of optical fiber.
Experience analyzing and troubleshooting PCBAs and opto-electronic communications systems.
Experience in automated testing and optical system characterization.
Strong foundation in optics and optical physics.
Master's or PhD degree, expertise in optical design, and experience in free space optical communications (preferred).
