The Missile Development Program Manager 3 joins the Advanced Weapons Business Unit to lead AARGM and AARGM-ER missile development programs. This role is responsible for managing cost, schedule, and technical performance during the development, qualification, flight test, transition-to-production, and fielding of hardware and software configurations for these weapon systems. The manager directs cross-functional Integrated Program Teams, manages program resources and requirements, conducts risk and opportunity management, and oversees contract negotiations and supplier relations. Key competencies include strategic thinking, business acumen, and proposal management to support long-term growth. The role requires proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management tools. This position addresses the technical challenge of developing missile systems that support U.S. national and allied security objectives within a high-stakes aerospace and defense environment requiring a Secret security clearance.

What you'll do

  • Lead cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to ensure program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives are met.
  • Manage the execution of missile development programs including qualification, flight test, and transition-to-production.
  • Develop new business opportunities through strategic planning, capture management, and proposal development.
  • Negotiate contracts, contract changes, operating budgets, and key terms with customers and stakeholders.
  • Track and manage program requirements while maintaining master plans and schedules.
  • Perform risk and opportunity management by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential project issues.
  • Manage supplier relationships and government-supplied property to meet program goals.
  • Deliver performance reports and presentations to executive management and other key stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience managing development programs or a Master’s degree and 8 years of experience.
  • Must have an active and current U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SAP clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional development teams within the aerospace or defense sectors is required.
  • Proven experience managing tasks on schedule and under budget as a project lead, integrated program team lead, or cost account manager.
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management tools.
  • Preferred PMP certification and a degree in science, engineering, or business.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and proposal management is preferred.
