The Missile Development Program Manager 3 joins the Advanced Weapons Business Unit to lead AARGM and AARGM-ER missile development programs. This role involves managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for hardware and software configurations during development, qualification, flight test, and transition-to-production. The manager directs cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet strict quality and budget requirements while complying with defense regulations. Key responsibilities include risk and opportunity management, contract negotiation, and workforce planning. The successful candidate must utilize program management tools including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management. This position supports U.S. national and allied security objectives by developing missile systems. Candidates must possess a Secret security clearance and experience in the aerospace or defense sectors.
Lead cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives.
Manage the execution of technical development programs for AARGM and AARGM-ER missile systems.
Develop new business opportunities through strategic planning, capture planning, and proposal development.
Negotiate contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, and schedule milestones.
Identify, distribute, track, and complete all program requirements.
Manage program resources, including workforce planning and supplier performance.
Conduct thorough risk and opportunity management practices, including identification and mitigation.
Report program performance and deliver presentations to customers and executive management.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience managing development programs OR a master’s degree and 8 years of experience.
Must have experience leading high-performing, cross-functional development teams within the aerospace/defense sector.
Must have experience leading tasks on schedule and at or under cost as a project lead, integrated program team lead, or cost account manager.
Must be proficient in program management tools including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management.
Must possess an active and current US Government DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
A degree in science, engineering, or business is preferred.
