Microsoft SQL Server Administrator

What you'll do

• Administer and maintain MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Execute database lifecycle activities including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and monitoring.
• Implement disaster recovery strategies, index maintenance, and database performance optimization techniques.
• Monitor system health metrics such as CPU, memory, and disk usage using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Manage access controls, audit logs, and user accounts to maintain database security and integrity.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues within a high-security environment.
• Produce technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration.
• Proven expertise with MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Proficiency in database performance monitoring, tuning, optimization, backup strategies, and shell scripting.
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
• Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (e.g., Security+, GICSP, or higher).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required or active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain a Poly; U.S. Citizenship is required.
• MCSA SQL Server certification (preferred).
• AWS certification or hands-on experience with cloud services (preferred).
• Familiarity with NMEC operations, related agency experience, and troubleshooting in secure environments (preferred).
