The Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM/SCCM) Engineer joins the IT Infrastructure and Operations team to deliver Desktop Engineering Services for Government activities. This role involves engineering solutions for software deployment, patch management, and configuration of IT baselines within the enterprise. Daily responsibilities include utilizing Microsoft MCM for workstation baseline configuration, identifying and resolving system problems, and writing PowerShell scripts to automate administration tasks. The engineer will provide security updates, develop baseline images for servers and laptops, and offer leadership to junior engineers. Required technical skills include expert-level experience with SCCM, WSUS, MDT, and VMware vCenter, alongside functional knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, and DNS. The role also requires expertise in IAVA processes, DISA STIGs for Windows, and managing GPO, OUs, and Security Groups.
Administer operating system baselines and workstation configurations using Microsoft MCM.
Identify and resolve system problems by developing short-term workarounds and long-term solutions.
Write PowerShell scripts to automate routine systems administration tasks.
Deploy security updates, vulnerability patches, and hotfixes to user workstations and servers.
Develop and maintain baseline images for servers and laptops including software and security updates.
Manage operating system deployment (OSD) tasks including capturing images, creating packages, and task sequences.
Execute IAVA processes including RMF release, testing, approval, and deployment workflows.
Manage Active Directory security groups, OUs, DNS, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
What we're looking for
US Citizenship is required.
Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline plus 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience.
Expert level experience with SCCM and WSUS.
Expertise in MDT and MCM including image capturing, package creation, task sequences, and OSD.
Solid understanding of VMware vCenter, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, and GPO management.
