Media Systems Engineer II

What you'll do

• Architect, design, and construct media technology environments for content acquisition, production, storage, and distribution.
• Resolve complex technical issues affecting production, broadcast, and distribution across multiple networks.
• Troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals in both traditional SDI and IP 2110 environments.
• Manage third-party service providers to ensure compliance with established service agreements.
• Oversee the procurement of equipment and materials for media systems within budget guidelines.
• Develop long-range plans for future media technology needs and capital improvements.
• Provide operational support for maintaining and programming audio and video production systems.
• Monitor system health and performance while performing hardware/software upgrades and installing patches.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-4 years of experience leading others to ensure design, uptime, and stability of live media production environments.
• Proficiency in SMPTE standards for broadcast television and video production/streaming environments.
• Current certification in standards such as ST 292M, ST 424M, ST 2110, ST 2059, IEE1588, ST 2022-7, or SCTE-104.
• At least one foundational cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Knowledge and experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms.
• Knowledge and experience with compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS.
• Ability to climb ladders, work on raised structures and building roofs, operate aerial lift platforms, and hold a valid driver's license.
