- Lead the technical implementation of broadcast production systems and cloud-based infrastructure for content acquisition, production, and distribution.
- Modernize legacy media infrastructure to support advanced standards like SMPTE ST 2110, 4K, UHD HDR, and various video codecs.
- Manage the construction of facilities and the installation of core routing, playout, storage, and automation systems.
- Create technical documentation, procedures, and standards to guide technological development across the organization.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and capital planning forecasts for media technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to evaluate equipment and define industry-standard solutions.
- Resolve complex technical issues related to metadata conversion, audio mapping, and microservices architecture tuning.
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 5 years of broadcast engineering experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study.
- Strong understanding of baseband/IP video, audio, digital compression, and transport systems.
- Knowledge of audio/video encoding/transcoding techniques and file transfer acceleration technologies.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, C, or C++.
- Familiarity with SMPTE standards for broadcast television and video production/streaming environments.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms.
- Knowledge of compression techniques including MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS.
