TL;DR · Media-IP SoC Performance Architect, Platform Architecture

The Media-IP SoC Performance Architect, Platform Architecture joins a dynamic team responsible for the performance models of complex multi-media IPs powering various SoCs. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new feature architectures and optimize trade-offs between performance, power, and area. Your daily responsibilities include planning, implementing, and validating high-level C++ performance models while developing custom tools for analyzing and visualizing data using machine learning and data science techniques. You will also correlate models with RTL and analyze product traces to provide feedback on media use cases. Required skills include expertise in C++, Python, Lua, and shell scripting, alongside a deep understanding of SoC architectures including fabrics, memory systems, QoS, arbitration, and queuing theory. This role focuses on providing data-driven insights for multi-media hardware components.

What you'll do

  • Plan, implement, and validate high-level C++ performance models for multi-media IPs.
  • Correlate performance models with RTL to ensure accuracy against technical specifications.
  • Develop custom tools using data science and machine learning to analyze and visualize performance data.
  • Analyze product traces and simulate data flows to provide performance and power feedback.
  • Optimize trade-offs between performance, power, and area for media-related hardware components.
  • Present data-driven performance study results to cross-functional teams to drive architectural decisions.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Experience in computer architecture and software engineering.
  • Experience in C++ object-oriented software development.
  • MS/PhD with 20+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of SoC architectures including fabrics, memory systems, QoS, arbitration, and queuing theory (preferred).
  • Experience with performance model development and analysis, including data analytics, statistics, and applied machine learning (preferred).
  • Expertise in C++ including latest STL libraries, modular object-oriented software architectures, and design patterns (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python, Lua, and shell scripting languages (preferred).
