Mechanical Systems Architect

What you'll do

• Design mechanical system architectural specifications for new products while balancing performance, cost, and time to market.
• Lead engineering teams to solve complex architectural and implementation problems within the organization.
• Create detailed system and product level documentation regarding functionality, design intent, and component interfaces.
• Monitor and ensure all designs comply with industry standards such as IEC and UL 61800-5-1.
• Develop proof of concept deliverables and define logical work sequencing for product integration.
• Advise the business on supplier selection to ensure high-quality partnerships.
• Act as a liaison between product management and technical leads to clarify requirements and resolve anomalies.
• Communicate architectural vision through customer support, presentations, and white papers.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• A background in mechanical engineering and a systems mindset.
• Typically requires 8+ years of system level design experience in mechanical systems.
• Experience as a design and technical leader in a matrixed environment.
• Significant experience designing drive hardware and mechanical systems with design for manufacturability considerations.
• Expertise in simulating mechanical systems using ANSYS tools or other multiphysics simulation software.
• A graduate degree relevant to mechanical engineering is preferred.
