Mechanical Designer
The Mechanical Designer joins the engineering and product development team to support drafting, documentation, and design activities that transform concepts into manufacturable solutions. In this role, you will create and revise 2D and 3D drawings, assemblies, and detailed component models while managing drawing files, revision histories, and bill-of-materials data. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues and ensure compliance with internal standards and project specifications. The position requires proficiency in SolidWorks for modeling parts and creating assemblies, along with an understanding of fabrication methods, tolerances, and material behavior. Preferred skills include familiarity with GD&T, PDM systems, and prototype support. This role provides critical technical support within the research environment to advance technologies at the intersection of high-performance computing, AI, and quantum computing.
