What you'll do

  • Serve as the Automation System Owner for quality-critical testing equipment to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation and control strategies including PLCs and HMIs to support consistent test operations.
  • Integrate new automation technologies into the testing environment while ensuring seamless data flow and connectivity.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify trends and lead root cause analysis for corrective actions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of automation systems, including upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure all automation systems comply with FDA, GMP, and internal quality standards during audits and inspections.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for engineering and operations staff on automated testing system maintenance.
  • Lead automation projects from concept through implementation to meet safety, quality, and business objectives.

What we're looking for

  • A Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of automation experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industries.
  • An Associate’s degree and 6 years of automation experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industries.
  • A high school diploma/GED and 8 years of automation experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industries.
  • Advanced degree in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes, specifically in final drug product operations (preferred).
  • Extensive background in programming, design, installation, validation, and lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls and automation (preferred).
  • Experience with Machine Vision, Serialization, Robotics, Siemens, and Rockwell software platforms (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret GAMPs/GMPs and knowledge of validation protocol execution for new equipment installations (preferred).
