Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Solar

What you'll do

• Manage a team of front-line engineers providing real-time support for solar panel and deployment mechanism manufacturing lines.
• Ensure continuous engineering coverage across all four production shifts through effective scheduling and handoff protocols.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCCA) to resolve line blockers and eliminate recurring process issues.
• Develop training programs and standardized troubleshooting guides to build team technical competency.
• Coordinate with equipment maintenance, quality, and production teams to implement improvements that reduce downtime.
• Monitor production performance metrics to drive data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage the disposition of non-conformances and the implementation of containment actions.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading or supervising technical teams, including performance management and development.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone/Ishikawa.
• Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations and managing shift schedules for 24/7 production support.
• Experience in aerospace, space hardware, or high-reliability manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with automated manufacturing processes, solar panel manufacturing, and non-conformance management systems (CAR/CAPA).
