As an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer on the Amazon Leo team, you will serve as a front-line technical resource for the aerospace environmental test production floor. You will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, software, and network issues to minimize downtime while ensuring high product quality. Your daily work involves performing root cause analysis, managing support tickets, and developing Python scripts or similar code to automate redundant tasks and improve monitoring. You will maintain Automated Test Equipment used in TVAC, HASS, and thermal chamber testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes. The role requires expertise in electronics test equipment like oscilloscopes and power supplies, as well as experience with RF test systems. This position addresses the technical challenges of maintaining reliable automated test infrastructure for a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network.
Serve as the first responder to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and network issues on the production test floor.
Distinguish between test system faults and product defects to provide clear failure dispositions for manufacturing teams.
Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis to implement systemic fixes and prevent recurring equipment failures.
Manage the support ticket queue by triaging, prioritizing, and resolving issues for production stakeholders.
Develop Python scripts and tools to automate redundant tasks and improve test stability and monitoring.
Analyze rack downtime and calibration data to drive improvements in equipment availability and performance.
Optimize and automate environmental testing processes including thermal vacuum (TVAC) and high-accelerated stress screening (HASS).
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance, or a hands-on engineering environment.
2+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging automated test systems across electrical, mechanical, electronic, networking, and software domains.
2+ years of experience with production test station (ATE) hardware and software.
2+ years of experience with electrical test equipment, data acquisition, and control software.
Experience using common electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and digital multimeters.
Experience writing, reading, and debugging software in Python, C, C#, or a similar language.
Preferred experience includes environmental testing (TVAC), RF test systems, hardware design, and maintenance management systems.
