Manager Automation Engineer, Rocket Motor Systems

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Controls Engineering team for solid rocket motor production.
• Manage the automation and controls project portfolio, including planning, budgeting, and tracking capital projects.
• Enforce internal standards for control system architecture, documentation, and regulatory compliance across the facility.
• Oversee functional safety projects including risk assessments, design reviews, and safety buyoffs.
• Provide headquarters with visibility on project status, schedule risks, and events impacting automation.
• Direct root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve automation downtime and ensure reliability.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
• Working knowledge of Siemens PLC programming using Ladder and Structured Text.
• Experience owning scope, budget, and schedule for capital and continuous improvement projects.
• Experience performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design.
• Experience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking.
• Familiarity with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export controlled information or facilities.
• 12+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience managing engineers, technicians, or integrators (preferred).
• TUV FS Engineer certification (Functional Safety of Machinery) (preferred).
• Experience building a controls organization in a new or ramping production facility (preferred).
• Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and safety committees (preferred).
