Manager, Application Engineering leads a team of application engineers, UX/UI engineers, and QA engineers to design, develop, and deploy software solutions for the Decision Science and Integration team. This role manages the full software development lifecycle using waterfall and agile techniques to build internal cloud-based analytical systems that integrate data science advancements into end-to-end tools. The manager oversees project execution, risk management, and the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into applications to enhance decision-making for various business units. Key technical requirements include experience with serverless architectural patterns in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as proficiency in React, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Next.js. The role involves managing large datasets, coordinating with infrastructure teams, overseeing CI/CD automation, and ensuring high-quality releases for complex internal tools.
Lead application engineers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers to develop and deploy internal cloud-based analytical systems.
Manage the full software development lifecycle using both waterfall and agile methodologies for multiple concurrent projects.
Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into internal applications to enhance decision-making tools.

Collaborate with Product Owners to define, refine, and prioritize project scope based on business needs.
Partner with Decision Science teams to incorporate data science advancements into end-to-end software solutions.
Advocate for software development best practices and drive the adoption of emerging technologies and tools.
Mentor direct reports and manage team members within a matrixed organizational structure.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a quantitative field, or equivalent (preferred).
8+ years of technology experience.
5+ years of software development experience building web-based applications.
2+ years leading technical teams specializing in cloud-based web application development.
Proven experience in hands-on coding, system design, code/merge reviews, and managing the full SDLC using waterfall and agile techniques.
Experience with serverless architectural patterns in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar, and working with complex large datasets.
Proficiency in React, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Next.js, CI/CD automation, and integrating AI/ML capabilities (preferred).
