The Load Balancer Network Engineer joins the Information Security organization to support secure classified network products for US Government operations. Working with senior engineers, you will assist in architecting, testing, and validating network security products within secured enclaves. Daily responsibilities include designing long-term scalability roadmaps, defining system security requirements like authorization boundaries, and implementing security designs using COTS, GOTS, and open-source hardware and software. You will oversee system hardening according to Federal, DoD, and IC guidance while coordinating security assessments. Required technical skills include experience with load balancing technologies like F5, Software Defined Networks, Firewalls, and Data Center migrations. Preferred competencies include DevSecOps principles, Cross Domain Solutions, STIG implementation, Ansible, UNIX scripting, and network analysis tools like Wireshark or Splunk.
Assist with architecting, testing, and validating network security products in secured enclaves.
Design long-term roadmaps for new and future scalability in secure enclaves.
Define system security requirements including authorization boundaries, security domains, and data classification.
Design security interfaces, interconnections, and trust relationships between system components and external systems.
Implement security designs using COTS, GOTS, and open-source hardware and software.
Harden and configure systems in accordance with Federal, DoD, and Intelligence Community guidance.
Coordinate security assessments to identify control failures and recommend corrective actions.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
Must have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of information technology experience or a related field.
Must have 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting load balancing technologies, preferably F5.
Must have 3+ years of experience as a system administrator working with Data Center migrations, server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching, and system integration.
Must have 1+ years of experience monitoring security bulletins and alerts from network system vendors.
Must have experience configuring and implementing networks, network security infrastructure, Software Defined Networks, and Firewall infrastructure.
Preferred: Experience with DEVSECOPS, DoD security implementation (STIG), Ansible, UNIX scripting, and CISSP certification.
