JOB TITLE: Network Security Engineer As a Network Security Engineer, you will join a team dedicated to developing reliable, secure networks to support Department of Defense missions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, then lead the planning, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network components. Your daily work involves designing and testing boundary security capabilities in lab environments, implementing them into production, and providing remote support for firewalls and security appliances. You will assess complex enterprise deployments using leading-edge security principles. Required technical skills include experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, or Juniper firewalls, Wireshark for packet analysis, and SIEM, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessment tools. You will also apply knowledge of backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking to solve complex problems and mentor others in technical competencies.

What you'll do

Design and test new boundary security capabilities in a lab environment.
Implement tested boundary security capabilities into production environments.
Provide remote network firewall and security appliance support to implementation teams.
Identify security requirements for switched and routed networks.
Implement network security best practice configurations for hardware and software.
Assess complex client enterprise network deployments using leading-edge security principles.
Resolve interoperability issues across different platforms and network components.
Mentor and supervise employees in both company and technical competencies.

What we're looking for

High school diploma or GED.
5+ years of experience with network security and the design of IT systems or networks for large commercial enterprises or government agencies.
3+ years of experience with firewall and enterprise security design, including device hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, IPsec, and vulnerability assessment.
Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, or Juniper firewalls.
Experience with packet analysis tools like Wireshark and monitoring tools for traffic analysis.
Experience with boundary protection.
Experience with cloud-native networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred); SD-WAN (preferred); Ansible or Python (preferred).
Secret clearance.
