Lead, Systems Engineer joins the Spectrum Superiority segment to lead life-cycle support of systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. This role focuses on Integration and Test (I&T) to support the development, verification, and validation of complex systems involving hardware, software, and networked components. The engineer manages requirements analysis, technical documentation, design oversight, and synthesis in a multi-functional environment. Key responsibilities include developing test plans, interface control documents, and technical specifications while leading design reviews like SRR, PDR, and CDR. Candidates should possess skills in Model Based Systems Engineering, system security testing, and free space optics. The role requires proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama to ensure traceability. This position addresses the development of communication systems, open systems architecture, and satellite communications within a complex technical environment.
Manage the full system lifecycle from conceptual development through product phase-out.
Capture and manage customer requirements while ensuring traceability to verification test matrices.
Develop technical specifications, interface control documents, and detailed test plans/procedures.
Plan and execute systems integration activities for hardware, software, and networked components.
Lead formal design reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
Evaluate vendor capabilities and manage subcontracts to secure necessary products or services.
Ensure system performance meets defined requirements while maintaining quality and schedule adherence.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across complex hardware and software domains.
What we're looking for
An ABET accredited Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, a Graduate Degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Must currently hold a DoD security clearance.
Experience in system level development, requirements definition, analysis, and risk mitigation for Communications, Open Systems Architecture, or Satellite Communications (preferred).
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (preferred).
System Security Testing experience (preferred).
Free Space Optics experience (preferred).
Experience with system integration, test, and verification in a complex system environment (preferred).
