What you'll do

Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams to ensure a cohesive end-to-end platform architecture.
Design and evolve secure, scalable platform capabilities for transaction workflows, reporting, reconciliation, and business-critical processing.
Perform hands-on technical tasks including code reviews, design reviews, debugging, and production troubleshooting on a daily basis.
Set technical direction for integration patterns, event flows, observability, and operational controls in alignment with business goals.
Lead the technical design for complex systems like transaction matching, retry handling, idempotency, and high-throughput data movement.
Implement AI/ML and automation to improve software delivery, platform observability, and developer productivity.
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads through deep dives, architecture discussions, and hands-on problem solving.
Communicate technical strategy, risks, and trade-offs clearly to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.

What we're looking for

Must have 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with an Advanced degree, or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of total experience.
Experience in designing and scaling mission-critical distributed systems for high availability, security, and operational excellence (preferred).
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Kubernetes, and containerized deployment models (preferred).
Proficiency in event-driven systems, Kafka, and high-throughput data processing (preferred).
Experience with payment processing, transaction lifecycle management, and financial service compliance like PCI-DSS or SOX (preferred).
Experience developing modern web user interfaces using React, Angular, or TypeScript (preferred).
Strong hands-on background in Java/J2EE, REST, CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting (preferred).
Proven track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical strategy across large organizations (preferred).
