The Lead SW Engineer joins the Acceptance Solutions Product Development team to provide technical leadership for the Processing platform. What you'll do

Provide technical leadership across architecture, design, integration, and scalability for the Visa Acceptance platform.
Design and evolve secure, scalable platform capabilities to support core transaction workflows and business-critical processing.
Conduct hands-on architecture, design, and code reviews while performing debugging and production troubleshooting.
Lead technical design for event correlation, transaction matching, settlement state management, and high-throughput data movement.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting security, latency, availability, and compliance requirements.
Apply AI/ML and automation to improve software delivery, platform observability, and developer productivity.
Mentor senior engineers through technical deep dives, design reviews, and hands-on problem-solving.
Communicate technical strategy, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to executive leaders and product partners.

What we're looking for

Must have 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Must have at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
Must have 4 years of work experience with a PhD.
Must have 13+ years of relevant work experience.
15 years of experience with progressive technical leadership responsibilities and broad influence across platforms, products, or engineering organizations (preferred).
Deep expertise in designing, building, and scaling mission-critical distributed systems with high availability, scalability, and security (preferred).
Expert proficiency in modern programming languages, API-first development, system design, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).
Experience with event-driven systems, Kafka, and high-throughput data processing (preferred).
