Lead Specialty Software Engineer The Lead Specialty Software Engineer joins the team to lead the development, integration, and support of the Calypso Back Office platform. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Java/J2EE technologies, API messaging, and batch interfaces for vendor platform integration. They must demonstrate expertise in the software development life cycle, application architecture, and release management. This role solves technical challenges within capital markets operations, specifically addressing trade processing, settlement workflows, and the optimization of back-office controls through strategic technology leadership.

What you'll do

Lead the development, integration, and support of the Calypso Back Office platform for capital markets.
Design, develop, test, and implement Calypso enhancements, workflows, and system integrations.
Ensure platform stability and compliance with risk, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to trade processing and settlements.
Drive process improvements, automation, and optimization of back-office operations and controls.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across cross-functional teams.
Influence the technical direction for the Calypso Back Office ecosystem with key stakeholders.

What we're looking for

5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, military, or education.
5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
5+ years of experience designing and supporting integrations between vendor platforms and systems using APIs, messaging, and batch interfaces.
5+ years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues in a high-availability environment.
5+ years of experience with SDLC, application architecture, testing, release management, and production support processes.
5+ years of experience leading complex technology initiatives and mentoring software engineers.
10+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience (preferred).
8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies (preferred).
3+ years of experience supporting or developing solutions on the Calypso platform, preferably within Back Office modules (preferred).
Strong knowledge of capital markets operations including settlements, accounting, payments, reconciliations, and post-trade processing (preferred).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to partner across Technology, Operations, and Business teams (preferred).
