As a Lead Software Engineer within the Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows Product Line, you will lead the delivery of high-quality technical solutions while driving roadmaps and agile execution. You will be responsible for designing complex platform features, mentoring junior engineers, and implementing AI-enabled engineering capabilities including tool functions, MCP servers, and agent patterns. Your daily work involves establishing evaluation guardrails for AI behavior, ensuring data readiness through modeling and pipelines, and upholding SDLC rigor like CI/CD and automated testing. The role requires proficiency in Java and Python, along with expertise in SQL, PL-SQL, and messaging systems like MQ or Kafka. You will solve technical challenges related to integrating AI-assisted development tools into production environments while ensuring security, reliability, and data privacy across infrastructure platforms and complex system integrations.
Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of complex platform features and integrations.
Create technical roadmaps and milestones to drive predictable delivery and continuous process improvement.
Develop AI assistant skills and tool functions with defined interfaces, schemas, and observability.
Stand up and operate MCP servers and agent patterns to accelerate engineering delivery.
Establish evaluation checks, guardrails, and monitoring to ensure AI behavior is accurate and safe.
Drive data readiness and integration practices including modeling and pipeline alignment for AI outcomes.
Uphold SDLC rigor through secure coding, automated testing, and CI/CD production readiness.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to unblock delivery and raise engineering standards.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong proficiency in Java and strong working experience with Python.
Strong architecture and design skills across systems with sound engineering judgment.
Strong engineering fundamentals including OOD, design patterns, SOLID, and a quality-first mindset (testing/TDD).
Strong integration and data fundamentals involving SQL/PL-SQL and event messaging such as MQ/Kafka.
Experience operating production services with CI/CD, observability, and reliability best practices.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows.
Ability to create roadmaps, manage dependencies, mentor engineers, and collaborate across cross-functional stakeholders.
ServiceNow experience (preferred).
Experience with MCP operations patterns (preferred).
Experience designing AI agents with grounding/RAG patterns and evaluation harnesses (preferred).
Experience in AWS or other public cloud platforms (preferred).
