As a Lead Software Engineer - Private Cloud within the Atlas On Premise & Next Generation Infrastructure Team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You are responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting creative software solutions while ensuring high-quality production code through rigorous reviews and debugging. Your role involves driving team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and operational stability. You will evaluate architectural designs with external vendors and automate the remediation of recurring system issues. The role requires proficiency in Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern languages, alongside expertise in DevOps, SRE principles, and Cloud Infrastructure. You will navigate complex technical problems involving private or public cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and application resiliency while ensuring secure coding practices across the entire software development life cycle.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Write secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by others.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for coding, refactoring, and testing.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Utilize SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve software delivery value.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficiency in coding with Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern programming languages.
Experience with DevOps and SRE principles.
Strong experience in Private or Public cloud environments.
Good understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and API.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity and security.
