As a Lead Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure within the Markets Technology team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to transform the Athena Core Platform into a resilient, scalable, cloud-based architecture. Your daily responsibilities include aligning technical strategies with partner teams, automating recurring issue remediations, and leading communities of practice to drive the adoption of leading-edge technologies. You will specifically oversee the integration of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and testing. Required skills include proficiency in Python or Java, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. You must possess expertise in load balancing, service orchestration, CI/CD, and application resiliency while ensuring secure, compliant AI usage within financial software delivery workflows.
Align technical strategy with partner teams to deliver a coherent experience for Athena Developers.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Partner with global engineers to transform the Athena Core Platform into a scalable cloud architecture.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Lead communities of practice to drive the adoption of leading-edge technologies.
Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to maximize the value realized by automation.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Python or Java.
Working knowledge of load balancing and service orchestration in on-prem and public cloud environments.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Practical experience with Cloud-native and Kubernetes technologies.
In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
Experience running Kubernetes (AWS EKS) at large scale for financial organizations (preferred); experience in one or more public cloud platforms (ideally AWS) (preferred).
