Lead Software Engineer, Observability & Platform Health Monitoring

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Own the architecture and multi-quarter technical roadmap for a multi-service observability platform running on Kubernetes.
• Design end-to-end data layers including schema and query designs for distributed SQL and large-scale Oracle datasets.
• Define the observability model for metrics, logs, and traces to establish standards for meaningful signals.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software applications.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Serve as the senior technical voice to leadership and audit to translate control requirements into engineering work.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting validation standards.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Hands-on depth with observability tooling including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, and Grafana (preferred).
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, distributed SQL, and Liquibase in a regulated environment (preferred).
• Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts and building systems for audit or regulators (preferred).
