Lead Software Engineer, Python, Observability

What you'll do

• Build and maintain Python services, scripts, and pipelines for data and AI use cases.
• Write efficient SQL for data analysis, validation, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Develop and iterate on AI applications, including LLM-powered workflows and agentic systems.
• Rapidly triage production incidents by reproducing issues, isolating root causes, and implementing fixes.
• Create monitoring and observability systems including logging, metrics, traces, and alerting.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and validation standards.
• Document system behavior, known failure modes, and technical support procedures.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
• Strong Python engineering skills including data handling, APIs, concurrency basics, and packaging.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Working knowledge of observability tools such as OTEL, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
• Strong SQL skills including joins, window functions, query optimization, and troubleshooting bad data.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
• Experience building AI solutions using LLMs, agent frameworks, or cloud/container technologies (preferred).
