Lead Software Engineer - Investment Portfolio Technology As a Lead Software Engineer within the Asset Management Technology organization, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing and delivering platforms that power Customized Managed Account Solutions and Separately Managed Accounts at retail scale. Your daily work involves designing and deploying Java-based microservices and REST APIs, utilizing Python where appropriate, and building data pipelines for trading and client reporting. You will manage production readiness, observability, and incident response while driving Snowflake best practices. Key technical requirements include proficiency in AWS, SQL, and CI/CD methodologies. You will also lead the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed across the software development life cycle.

What you'll do

Design, build, test, and deploy Java and Python-based microservices and REST APIs for trading and data workflows.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable platforms for retail-scale investment solutions.
Build and evolve data pipelines in Snowflake while ensuring data lineage, quality, and auditability.
Own production readiness by establishing SLOs, managing incident response, and automating recurring issue fixes.
Embed security, resiliency, and IT control policies into all software designs and implementation practices.
Translate business outcomes into technical delivery plans and provide engineering leadership during agile planning.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Enforce engineering standards through rigorous code reviews, testing strategies, and documentation quality.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
Hands-on experience in platform/system design, application development, performance testing, incident management, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Java and Python.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and agile methodologies.
Experience building RESTful web services, microservices, API design, testing, performance tuning, and secure coding.
Strong experience with AWS production-grade services, Snowflake data solutions, and SQL.
AWS certification(s) (preferred).
Airflow or equivalent orchestration experience (preferred).
Modern CI tooling experience such as GitHub, BitBucket, GitLab, or Jenkins (preferred).
Financial Services experience and familiarity with trading concepts/trade lifecycle (preferred).
